Penang, Malaysia

Traveling as a family always brings a mix of excitement, bonding, and unforgettable memories—and our recent trip to Penang, Malaysia was nothing short of magical. As a family of four with an energetic son, and curious daughter—we set out to explore this vibrant island filled with culture, creativity, and fun attractions.

First Stop: A World of Butterflies at Entopia
Our adventure began at Entopia, a tropical sanctuary that felt like stepping into another world. The kids were instantly mesmerized by the colorful butterflies fluttering freely around them. Our daughter carefully followed one bright blue butterfly while our son excitedly pointed out exotic insects and reptiles.

What made Entopia truly special was how interactive it was. We weren’t just observers—we were part of the environment. Kuya Thads had a great time interacting with the insects who seem to be found of him too! It was both educational and magical, and the kids couldn’t stop talking about it afterward.

Exploring Penang’s Famous Street Art
Next, we headed into George Town to hunt for Penang’s famous street art. This turned into one of the most fun and unexpected highlights of the trip. Armed with a map and lots of enthusiasm, we wandered through charming streets searching for murals.

The kids loved posing with the artwork—pretending to ride bicycles painted on walls or interacting with cleverly designed scenes. Even we, as parents, found ourselves laughing and joining in. It felt like a city-wide treasure hunt, blending art, history, and creativity.

Reaching New Heights at The Top
Another must-visit spot was The Top, located in the Komtar Tower. This was an entirely different kind of thrill. The highlight, of course, was the glass skywalk. Walking on a transparent floor high above the city tested everyone’s courage—especially Mom’s!

While Yanee bravely jumped onto the glass panels, Kuya took cautious steps, and was initially hesitant. The panoramic views of Penang were absolutely breathtaking, making it worth every nervous step.

Beyond the skywalk, there were plenty of attractions to keep the kids entertained, from interactive exhibits to fun rides. It was the perfect mix of excitement and family-friendly entertainment.

Food Adventures and Simple Joys
No trip to Penang would be complete without indulging in its incredible food. From street hawker stalls to cozy cafés, every meal felt like a culinary adventure. The kids discovered a love for local dishes (with a few safe favorites in between like McDonalds & KFC), while we enjoyed every flavorful bite.

Even simple moments—like walking along the streets, sharing desserts, or resting after a long day—became cherished memories.

A Trip to Remember
What made this Penang trip truly special wasn’t just the attractions—it was the shared experiences.

Watching the kids learn, laugh, and explore together reminded us why family trips matter so much.
From the natural wonders of Entopia to the artistic charm of street murals and the thrilling heights of The Top, Penang offered something for everyone. We left with tired feet, full hearts, and a promise to return someday.

Until the next adventure!
